Bill Read is a retail expert having a superior background in commercial shopping centers located throughout the Southeastern. Bill brings a career’s worth of experience in leasing and creating value on commercial retail properties. He has extensive experience in portfolio acquisitions, anchor repositioning, merchandising and redevelopments of power centers.

Prior to joining Retail Specialists, Bill was a retail consultant specializing in helping publicly-traded REITs, private property owners and wall street investment companies understand portfolio matrix’s and anchor repositioning.

Bill’s career also includes working for DDR Corp for 25 years as an officer of the company and vice president of leasing for the southeast. While at DDR Corp, Bill worked on large portfolios (over 100 properties) and was directly responsible for generating positive leasing spreads and base rent growth. During his tenure with DDR Corp, Bill was also responsible for hiring, training and mentoring a large leasing staff. Bill has provided high-level portfolio reviews and market tours to company’s JV partners, that included some of the nation’s largest real estate funds; Blackstone, TIAA-CREF, Ohio State Teachers Retirement Fund, and Green Street Advisors. Bill’s territories have included extensive retail portfolios located throughout Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North and South Carolina and Florida.
