As a Retail Development Manager, John Mark specializes in retail recruitment and development. He focuses on the identification of retail, restaurant, and hospitality companies to fill the product and service gaps within each of his client community’s trade area. His primary role is to leverage industry relationships with the brokerage and development community to assist retailers’ expansion efforts. He also trains Retail Development Coordinators on the team.

Prior to joining full-time, John Mark served as an intern for Retail Strategies and Retail Specialists for one year where he gained hands-on experience in many facets of the commercial real estate industry.

Originally from Winfield, Alabama, John Mark attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham Collat School of Business where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance with honors. While there, he founded the Collat Real Estate Society, was a student member of CCIM, and studied abroad to the United Arab Emirates and the Netherlands. Outside the office, John Mark enjoys traveling to obscure destinations, swimming/diving, and Crossfit. He is also an avid car guy.
